Refugee Campsite Electricity

This converted campsite (cabins) located in Romania at the edge of Cluj currently has 30+ refugees housed here. The women here work together to take care of each other, the children and the site. They are extremely warm and welcoming and make do with very little.

Currently the greatest need they have, above food or heating, is electricity. The heating comes from logs which have been chopped and stored away and will last a number of weeks but there are costs associated with powering up the campsite that the leaders here simply cannot sustain themselves. 100% of donations made below will go directly to helping cover the electric bills which cost about 1500 Euro/month ($2000 CAD).

Updates will follow on a regular basis.

Vans have begun driving up into Ukraine to help affiliated churches with their supply needs. Many people not from the churches have gathered to both receive support but also join the community in providing relief to others, sharing supplies and faith! These numbers are growing exponentially at a rate that is hard to sustain. Any donations will help these channels grow and support both the local campsite as well as their families and friends still back in Ukraine.

Thanks to many people coming together, we’ve been able to send $1000 CAD this week for help with the shelter in place here. I spoke with the coordinator and she told me donations have never been more important on their end. Some medical expenses came up that put a great strain on them on top of the bills they are currently faced with. They are people of great faith though! And are believing that these burdens will be eased as they navigate these horrendous circumstances. This is where we come in and our work continues! Let’s keep spreading the word and support the women of Ukraine!
